Mulled Cider Pot
Simmer pots are one of those things that successfully set the mood for the season. I specially love to make them during the Autumn/Winter months with spices, orange peel, cranberries, cherries or apples maybe? Wine, cider, some maple, you name it! You have a repertoire of options. Most places sell all the spices you need for simmer pots or poupourri during this time of year. Williams Sonoma is the one place I particularly LOVE to go during the holiday season. I don’t know what it is, but it has become a tradition almost to go in and get my spices from there. This recipe is a staple and one I always make year after year. It was a hit on Thanksgiving Day while we were cooking. Hope you love it!
For your simmer pot you will need:
Orange peel
Apple cider (Or apple juice. Not sparkling cider, or vinegar).
1 tbs of Mulling Spices from Williams Sonoma.
1 Cinnamon stick.
Rosemary
Thyme
Fill your pot 3/4 in with the apple cider, add the orange peel, spices and herbs. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Once simmering, bring the heat down to low and enjoy! Add more apple cider as it continues to simmer down. Keep an eye on it. Turn it off when you’re out of the kitchen, or done cooking!
Sending love,
Esther
