Inside My Makeup Bag

Less is more when it comes to my daily makeup routine. It takes me around five minutes to get my makeup done, and it’s all about skin and eyes. Long voluminous lashes, naturally looking thick eyebrows and youthful dewy skin.

I avoid foundation on the daily. I conceal the areas that need a little bit of retouch, like my under eyes, around my nose, the corner of my lips and some redness here and there. I noticed a huge difference when I stopped applying foundation, discoloration reduced and texture improved significantly. Cream makeup is my go to for a natural look. I’ve noticed that hydrated glowy skin looks healthier and younger, and cream products get me there easily.

Like my skin, but better.

Before I do my makeup I like to leave my skincare set for a few minutes, and working from home allows me to have that flexibility. When I was going to the office I would do my skincare, get dressed and then apply my makeup (letting that few minutes go by even if it was just one).

For the face I have been loving a good concealer. Here is my tip for you: Pay attention to your skin undertone when choosing your concealers and foundations. Most of the makeup stores assistance can help you with this. I have fair skin with an olive undertone, so a peachy porcelain color would look very pink on me. If you want your makeup to look natural and effortless, get the right color.

A recent obsession has been this new Merit stick. It has a very nice coverage and makes your skin look super natural. I like to blend it with a drop of Rosehip oil for that healthy glowing look. For blush I prefer cooler tones rather than warmer ones. I think peachy tones are beautiful, but bring all the yellow/orange out of my face. A creamy blush will make your cheeks look hydrated and dewy. Bronzer, on the other hand, is the only powder I use. I haven’t dedicated time to use a cream one, so it’s harder for me to apply it right. My ultimate favorites are Nars Laguna and the one I am currently using, Marc Jacobs Tantalized.

For the eyes I am the simplest. A very good volumizing mascara does the trick. I like looong luscious lashes on the top, and leave the bottom lash line alone to avoid making any mess. After I apply mascara (I am very messy) I go through with a cotton tip to clean all the excess. To be honest, I do like that little redness it leaves on my eye lid and bottom lash line. It makes you look like you have maybe a little bit of eye shadow and eye liner on.

Onto the eyebrows, they are like the frames of your face. I love a thick eyebrow with just enough arch to lift your eyes. I like more of a natural and bushy look, using the pencil just to give them a little bit of shape and fill in a few sparse areas. This has been my go to brow pencil, the color matches perfectly my hair color. I brush them up, and apply clear gel afterwards.

To finish up a good lip balm and ready to go!
